FUNtastic QRE Festival 2012 opened today
With "Wild Triathlon Carnival"

(Hong Kong 3rd Nov 2012) The 3rd QRE Festival, organized by Hopewell Real Estates Agency Ltd, a subsidiary of Hopewell Holdings Ltd., was kicked off today afternoon at the Open Piazza of Hopewell Centre.

Aiming to encourage an eco-friendly and healthy life style in a socially harmonious Wan Chai, the Triathlon was officiated by Mr. Thomas Jefferson Wu, Managing Director of Hopewell Holdings Ltd., Mr. Yau Shing-mu, Under Secretary for Transport and Housing, and Mr. Suen Kai-cheong, Chairman of the Wan Chai District Council.

"I believe a community can develop sustainably only with everyone plays a part in it, and Hopewell Holdings is willing to take initiatives to bolster an eco-friendly and healthy life style in Wan Chai through the carnival-like QRE Festival. I hope everyone could enjoy the event while experience the mesmerizing charms of Wan Chai ", Mr. Thomas Jefferson Wu said at the ceremony

After the opening ceremony, here came the fun-filled "Wild Triathlon Carnival". 13 competing teams (from student and public sections) wearing quirky yet green-friendly costumes underwent three challenges: rowing, running and electricity generation by cycling, before crowned as the Champion of Wild Triathlon. Mr. Daniel Lee, Hong Kong's leading triathlete, was invited to be the official judge of the Wild Triathlon, while famous DJ Jim Yan (少爺占) was the judge for "funny costume". The two judges also joined Mr. William Wong, Executive Director of Hopewell Holdings Ltd., to present prizes to Caritas Chai Wan Marden Foundation Secondary School Team B, the winner of student section, Ling Liang Church MH Lau Secondary School Team 2, the winner of public section, and Caritas Chai Wan Marden Foundation Secondary School Team B, the Funniest Costume.

Soon after the Triathlon ended, the party continued in the Open Piazza at Hopewell Centre where a fun-filled carnival was held featuring free interactive games, international food booths serving German gourmet sausages, French-style gourmet canapés, fusion-style canapés, candy floss, and live band performances, sharing with everyone the joyful livelihood in Wan Chai.
