FUNtastic QRE Festival 2012 Discovery Walk Set out Today
Celebrity Tour Led by Famous Food Critic Mr. Walter Kei
(Hong Kong 10/11/2012)The Discovery Walk held today at the Open Piazza of Hopewell Centre marks the grand finale of the 3rd QRE Festival, organized by Hopewell Real Estates Agency Ltd., a subsidiary of Hopewell Holdings Ltd.. The two straight weekends of wonderful programmes will close its curtain tomorrow.
Being the climax of the 3rd QRE Festival 2012 and recommended for the first time by Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) as one of the highlights of "Streets of Carnival", Discovery Walk was officiated by Mr. William Wong, Executive Director, Hopewell Holdings Ltd., Mr. Suen Kai-cheong, Chairman of the Wan Chai District Council, Mr. Anthony Lau, Executive Director of Hong Kong Tourism Board, Mr. Alan Lo, Chairman of Hong Kong Ambassadors of Design, Mr. Walter Kei, famous food critic, and Mr. Nelson Chow, Chairman of the Hong Kong Sommelier Association.
Mr. William Wong said, "Today's event is a new attempt from QRE Festival. Together with Hong Kong Tourism Board, QRE brings an European-styled wine walk to Wan Chai. What is more encouraging is that 20 merchants take part in today's event, sharing with all participants the warmth of Wan Chai community."
Every participant of the Walk this afternoon (3-6pm), paying just HK$199 per person, had a wonderful experience in visiting 20 stylish outlets on Queen's Road East and tasting a spectrum of fine wines and gourmet food from restaurants such as VIEW62 by Paco Roncero, the one and only one revolving restaurant in Hong Kong, the renowned French restaurant Chez Patrick Restaurant, MINI Showroom, Wanchai Visual Archive and so on. The first 10 ticket holders registered this afternoon also joined the Celebrity Tour led by famous food critic Mr. Walter Kei and Mr. Nelson Chow, Chairman of Hong Kong Sommelier Association.
Discovery Walk will donate all its income, after deduction for necessary expenses, to the Hong Kong Ambassadors of Design, matching the goal of QRE Festival to encourage an eco-friendly and healthy life style in a socially harmonious Wan Chai,
Apart from the Discovery Walk, the Open Piazza has turned itself into a French-styled Montmartre these two days (from 10-11/11 ,2pm-6pm), where live performances were given by a number of up and coming bands including SirV led by famous singer Patrick Tang; a free wine tasting class was held by Hong Kong Sommelier Association, free art exhibition by well-known sculptor Mr. Lau Yau-kuen and art-jamming kiosk hosted by designers Brothers Free.

QRE Montmartre
Open Piazza will be transformed into a Montmartre-styled area where art works of well-known sculptor Mr. Lau Yau-kuen and many other local artists will be exhibited. There will also be free wine seminars and music performances.
